October 2021 Group Service Day Events

On October 8th, a group of volunteers from Frost Bank scraped/painted the side of Ms. Janice’s home and provided a seasonal yard cleanup. This capable group of volunteers really made a difference in the appearance of her home. Ms. Janice is very appreciative of the volunteers’ efforts.

In her thank you note, she wrote: “I feel really blessed that you all put your stamp of love on my house and on my life!” A huge thank you to all of the volunteers that participated with a shout out to MCCC volunteers, Larry and David for repairing the window sill/frame as well as Hank, Ken and Cris for lending a helping hand.

On October 9th, a group of volunteers from Journey Church came out in force to provide seasonal lawn care for 3 MCCC clients. The enthusiastic group knocked it out of the park at all 3 locations. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Journey Church volunteers for their service to our clients and Glenda Strickland for coordinating the service day event with our team. The clients enjoyed visiting with the volunteers and were touched by their kindness. They were also impressed with all they accomplished.

On October 16th, a youth group from First Baptist Hurst worked hard and had fun beautifying Ms. La Ree’s back yard. She has a large back yard and needed a little extra help finishing up the winterization projects. These young folks did a great job and Ms. La Ree is very grateful! Big thank you to the volunteers that participated and Lauren Sheffield for coordinating the event. Nice work!
