Gateway VII Big Event With Mid-Cities Care Corps

Gateway Church VII mobilized 172 young adults for their Big Event day of service in October. This amazing army of volunteers spread out one Saturday morning across Northeast Tarrant County to impact 29 residences of senior neighbors. They raked leaves, pruned bushes, planted flowers, washed windows and stained wheelchair ramps that had been constructed earlier in the year by other registered volunteers of Mid-Cities Care Corps. Carol is one of those people who approach life with a genuinely thankful spirit. She is so friendly and upbeat that you quickly forget that she is legally blind, or that she is caring for her adult daughter who is immobilized by Parkinson’s disease. Compass Family One-Day Event

Usually when one hears the phrase “spring break” they think of that beautiful time when they were a kid just sitting at home relaxing and putting off the  home work that was assigned to them. This past Spring Break Mid-Cities Care Corps was fortunate enough to meet a group of kids and their families from Compass Christian Church that wanted their spring break to mean more than that.
